Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome! Alpha at Sutton Christian Centre is a series of 6 sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each session includes food, a talk and good conversation. Alpha at SCC takes place on Tuesday evenings, 7 – 9pm, from Tuesday 7th May to 11th June.
Alpha
Each Alpha evening begins with a hot meal, and chance to get to know others who are attending, in a very relaxed environment. We make no charge at all for the meal, although any donations will be gladly accepted!
Following the meal we listen to a talk, mostly given on video, with an occasional live speaker. Each talk will be around 25 minutes long and will explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from Is there more to life than this? Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us?
After the talk there’s time for a hot drink and a slice of cake before breaking into small groups for the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
Finally, we wrap up the evening by 9pm.
With Alpha, there’s no pressure, no follow up and no charge. We would love you to be part of our latest Alpha, beginning on May 7th . For more information…and to let us know you are coming…please email us at office@suttonchristiancentre.org.
